Move Me Video

I have decided to launch Move Me, a video production and motion graphics company here in Portland, Maine. Professionally I have been building website for the last 17 or so years. I had one html class my senior year in college and when went from there. Buying books, learning, researching, building websites and of course failures and mistakes. Then after years messing around I would start getting work as a web designer and then onto developer. When I first started there was no sign yet of content management systems like Joomla, WordPress or Drupal. When those appeared I would use and build sites with each of them. I did however have another interest. Video.

I went to school for broadcast journalism and hoped to get a job working for the news to start. At the time, that’s what you did with a Communications Degree with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. I was a freelance sports photojournalist for WCSH6 for almost 4 years shooting everything and anything sports related. Gymnastics, baseball, car racing, boxing…I’ve shot it all. I worked with Lee Goldberg and the late great Bruce Glasier. It was a great time but I got a web designer job for a big trade show company here in Portland. That didn’t stop me from shooting video.

I brought the company camera to a trade show my first month on the new job, shot and edited some video while there, showed it to the people in charge of the show, and that’s all it took the be my companies video guy even though I was still a web developer. I was fine with it!

Years later I have decided to launch Move Me, a video production and motion graphics right here in Portland, Maine. Sometimes, when I see something, I feel moved. That’s why I’m calling the company Move Me. I want to make things that move people in some way or another. Websites are mostly still so I wanted to start focusing on more things that move. I do still build websites and love doing that too, but I wanted to do more of things that move so I have launched Move Me to do just that.
